Bontrager Glo light mount

I like the bontrager glo leds as indicators when riding at night. Problem I've had is the base where they mount have broken on a few occasions. A set of front and back costing $20 a set, and the fact that bontrager has stopped producing this small light has left me wanting to fix and find a better solution.

This is likely to do with the way I use the rear red light. I have a full suspension bike with a dropper post. Can’t mount on the dropper post, so I was left looking for other locations to mount the rear led. So I put the rear light on the tube going down to the back tire. When using using the original rubber strap when mounted at this location, the excess strap that mounts the light hits my foot constantly. So that, coupled with the fact that thats a rough location taking abuse, I don't use the rubber strap. Instead I use zip ties thru the base.

If anyone does mount them where I do, I recommend wrapping the section of your frame under the mount with electrical tape,
