Bow Tie Construction Pieces

This construction set is derived from the the 2:1 tetrahedron and octahedron pattern that makes up an isotropic vector matrix. The "bow tie" shaped piece is composed of two edge-to-edge tetrahedrons that connect to the adjacent octahedron.

The "(whole)" files are for reference only and are not intended to be printed.

Print out two "Tetrahedron Pair" or "Octahedron" files for each piece and glue the bases together. Ensure that the pieces are precisely aligned. Print without a brim if possible to minimize extra material getting in the way. As with any construction objects, print as high quality as possible and expect to do a bit of post-print finishing for a perfect fit.

The above models were printed with a 0.4 mm nozzle at 0.1 mm layer height.
