I own Metric Boxford BUD 5 and occasionally cut threads for which I can use a Thread Dial Indicator to help me when cutting Metric threads.

The TDI gauge that I own however is for a cousin lathe to the Boxford, it's off a Viceroy but also a product of the Denford group, although it's marked out for Metric, it has a 32 tooth gear that doesn't quite match my leadscrew, so I assume the Viceroy it came from used an Imperial leadscrew of a bigger diameter than my Boxford which is 3/4" or 19mm.

Hence to use this gauge properly I first wanted to make an appropriate gear for my leadscrew: a reversible 30/28 tooth M3 trapezoidal gear.

When I'd done that successfully I also created a 32 tooth 8tpi gear for Imperial leadscrew owners, that should also work with other South Bend clones.

I also made a new PLA printable TDI body along with an appropriate dial and attachment peg....

Though I don't own a Myford, I do note that some use a 3/4" leadscrew of
