This is designed to be a modular arm segment, such that multiple copies can be attached together for a longer structure. Included is a hinge for a flexible arm if wanted.
This is the beginning of a robot arm project.
NOTE: While the STL files are included for direct printing, I suspect that others will want to download the OpenSCAD files for alteration of the object. These have easy-to-use parameters for altering the dimensions of the box and hinge.
1/11/14 -- Added new version of OpenSCAD file that allows for taller hinge pivot arms. Prior hinge would allow for about 30 degrees of angulation. Tall arm should allow about 90 degrees.
1/18/14 -- Changed hinge again. Prior hinge would allow cables to fall across axis of rotation, preventing arm from rotating in desired direction. So grooved disk added to axis.
