LIFE-SIZED brain. Easy safe print, spectacularly stable, goofy/fun, non-charging phone stand.
Most excellent for desk or table top use.
Error-free and opens in correct orientation. View underside in preview to ensure it is laying fully flat on buildplate.
Cavity for phone with case is 15mm thick by 90mm wide and 47mm depth. This will accommodate MOST phones with normal protective cases, but not card holding versions.
Upper edges for phone insertion are filleted in front, and partially in back to more easily slip in.
Make the slimey nature POP by coating PLA print with resin (such as XTC-3D or something cheap at Walmart or hardware store). ABS/ASA smoothing does NOT yield great slimy effect.
NO supports.
Recommend 3 walls with .4mm nozzle (or .6mm nozzle and 2 walls).
0.2 layer height works fine and should look great if coating with resin, thereby hiding layer lines.
15%+ infill to support top and bottom of fold structure. I use 15% in Cura and a support blocker as an overlap
