Brake Pads Protector

When transporting a bike on a fork-mount roof rack (like Thule TopRide or FastRide), the front wheel is removed and the brake pads remain fully exposed. I noticed that after some of my trips, the front brake started squealing and felt weaker at the start of the ride. It got worse over time until I eventually had to replace the pads due to contamination. To solve this, I designed the Brake Pads Protector – a simple insert that combines the function of a service spacer with an added shield that covers the pads during transport. Unlike a standard service spacer, this one has an external wall that blocks direct airflow and prevents dust, moisture, insects or washer fluid from settling on the pad surface. It slides between the pads and clips onto the retaining bolt, just like the original spacer, but provides real protection while driving even at highway speeds. Tested in real conditions: with the protector installed, I have not experienced brake squeal after transport even once. Without it
