Like its namesake, the wild brumby horse fromAustralia Terra, the Brumby is not a battlemech whosedesigned has not been tamed by a corporate owner orcontrolled by the select few. The origins of the ‘mechremain uncertain, but many suspect worlds on theLyran frontiers produced the earliest versions drawingon captured Marik technical notes descending from theLiberator project. It is most commonly seen in use byplanetary militia and defence of corporate assets.The design makes some unusual choices with criticismfocusing on the placement of its primary weapons in asingle left arm mount. This is intentionally done to cutdown on complexity, with only a single power feed tothe reactor. Likewise, its right arm features no weaponsor supporting equipment whatsoever. The right arm isinconsistent in its form based off the parts available toits producer, it often features an elongated lower limband claw to allow it to serve a dual role as a workermech moving loads and shifting equipment.The legs of
