The BSX-91 Daedalus was an experimental Colonial Fleet vessel, developed shortly before the Second Cylon War. Its purpose was to test a new generation of warship concepts—cheaper to build, more flexible in role, and operable with minimal crew.Key Innovations:Semi-Automated Control: Daedalus was equipped with a hybrid system combining automated core functions with the option of manual intervention. In emergencies, the ship could be operated by a single pilot or commander, ensuring survivability even under catastrophic crew losses.Modular Armament: Instead of fixed, integrated weapon systems, Daedalus carried standardized hardpoints that could mount interchangeable weapon packages—ranging from anti-fighter batteries and torpedo launchers to electronic warfare suites. This made the ship a highly adaptable platform, useful for escort, reconnaissance, or light assault missions. The tradeoff was reduced heavy armor protection, leaving the ship more vulnerable in direct engagements with Cylon
