This is an alignment jig for gluing fins on a model rocket. This is a modification to my 4 fin jig. To be honest, I have not tried this as most of my BT55 sized rockets are scale versions of missiles, typically 4 fin.
There are a lot of alignment jigs out there. What makes this different is that it uses meandering printed springs to hold the jig to the body tube as well as to hold the fins in place. This allows a decent amount of variation in the body tube diameter as well as the fin thickness. The fins should be 3/32 balsa or ply, but it will allow slightly thicker or thinner fins as well in case you are a little aggressive in sanding or if you fiberglass or paper your fins.
