My first attempt at making a circuit board! For the 40-year-old Commodore 64, allows one to select which port the joystick should be plugged into. Some games require port 1, some port 2. No more constantly swapping ports!
I used EasyEDA.com to design the circuit board and PCBWay.com manufactured them for $5 shipped. 3D printed case. Uses three DB9 right-angle ports: two female and one male. The switch is Senior Industries 62MS3RX/62MS3R1 (6P2T).
Fits the original C64 "breadbin" model. I haven't tested it on the newer gray C64's.
If you want the gerber file to order your own circuit board from PCBway, add a comment below.
To install the circuit board, slip it under the plastic overhang on the switch side of the case, then guide/angle the back edge of the circuit board into the slot in the back of the case. Once in the slot, the circuit board can be pushed flat against the case's floor. It's tricky, but it works.
