My Apple EarPods usually start to unravel after 6-12 months of use or so at the Y junction, where the leads to the left and right speakers separate (image 1). The insulation at this point is fragile. Sooner or later it will rip. This 3D-printed shell is designed to help with this problem. It conceals insulation damage if the EarPods have already suffered damage there (they must still be working) and I hope that this part will also prevent or at least delay the insulation damage from occurring in the first place. This part only fits the 3.5mm headphone plug version of the EarPods. It must be printed using a soft, flexible rubber-like filament like TPU. I have used white Elegoo TPU95A. If you don't mind longer print times, disable/reset "variable layer height" to get (marginally) better print quality. Installation will be a one-way street. You may not be able to remove this part from the EarPods, once installed. INSTALLATIONPush the 3.5mm plug a few millimeters into the narro
