I was looking to build a set of DIY Rudder pedals to use with DCS World until I could afford some good ones. I came across the CadetPedals here on Thingiverse. I really liked the design so I started printing but quickly discovered a few things that needed to be modified to make these work effectively-
Note that the original design is awesome! I just think there were some areas that could be improved.
- For the Toe Brakes- I eliminated the PVC pipe and replaced it with a 7" 5/16" hex head bolt. The bolt fits in the pedal with a bearing at one end, and the Pedal brackets now have 2 bearings to support that bolt. I used a lockwasher and nut to tighten the assembly together. You must use a lock washer to keep the Toe Brake Gear from spinning on the shaft.
- Pedal brackets are now attached using 1-3/4" 5/16" hex head bolts. Much stronger that the 4mm Screws. The front and back bottom bars now have 6 bearings each- 2 for each bracket attach point, and 2 for attaching to the base. The b
