This is a calibration cube for verifying your 3D printed dimensions against the dimension of your designs. By knowing your tolerances you can design your work to be a perfect fit when printed. For example, On my makerbot replicator 2 my outside dimensions tend to be 0.3mm bigger. A round hole becomes 0.7mm smaller. Knowing this I can compensate for it in my drawings.
Included is a PDF with the technical drawing of the part. Print out the drawing, 3D print the cube, measure and compare with the drawing and write down your tolerances on the technical drawing for future reference.
