I have just finished a quick-change prism for cameras with 1/4 inch thread and for use with a tripod and I am happy to make it available to the community.
The set consists of four parts:
- a1: camera part
- a2: threaded screw 6,35 mm (1/4")
- b1: tripod part
- b2: thread nut insert 6.35 mm (1/4")
- c: Grip for the M4x16 screw
I think that PLA threads don't last forever - and before you have to reprint large parts just because a thread has become unusable, I prefer to keep the threaded parts separate as an insert - quasi as a replacement and spare part. Because they are re-printed in 10 minutes.
I have sliced the threaded parts massive (100% infill), the prism parts with 1.6 mm wall thickness and 30% gyroid filling. This seems to me to be sufficiently stable, in reality it is probably completely over-the-top. No matter. My Nikon (with a relatively "male" lens) does not wobble. Do not overdo the thingi when tightening the screws. After tight comes off, right?
