Campus Security Customisation Design

Design is 150mm x 150 mm square with 55 mm upset. Box is made of two identical plastic parts and one sheet metal casing. Metal casing can be manufactured by tranfer die systems, seems hard at first but it is not. Metal casing can be mounted beforehand by the technical staff of University. There also should be a power enterance on the metal casing. Metal Part can be made of aluminum, stainless steel or low-carbon steel. In case of low carbon steel there should be painting. University colors can be used, can be advantage. Plastic parts are identical to reduce cost. There should be sealing material on the contact point of plastic and metal parts. Plastic part has enough surface to place on the University logo. I think polypropylene can be used, it can be also colored. Manufacturing can be tricky, die designer must use two parted injection die on a hot tip gated injection system. Metal casing makes the design completely accident proof. In case of vandalism, it should be hard to harm electronics. Plastic parts can be cracked but hard to brake. I did not draw electronic parts seperately. In my experience these devices should be easily interchangeable. If there is a failure on one of the devices, university staff can replace the entire electronic blackbox with a spare one and send the blackbox to you for repair. I think I would like to use this design in my university, infact I would create a logo for my laboratory and print a sticker with this logo to put it on the access reader.
