Built in 1988 by pop-art furniture designer Nico Larrieux, The Candycloud Bed is a sugary explosion of tufted velvet in cotton-candy pink, sky blue, lemon yellow, and lilac. Its oversized headboard is shaped like a puffy cloud, deeply buttoned with glossy, candy-colored resin gems. The frame itself is rounded and low, wrapped in swirled velvet that seems to melt like soft serve.
Originally created for a Paris fashion shoot, the bed was never returned to the studio—it was taken home by model Delphine Marceau, who declared it “too magical to give back.” After her retirement, the bed vanished until it was rediscovered in a warehouse during a pop-up art event in 2017. Now restored and on display in a pop culture museum in Tokyo, The Candycloud Bed draws flocks of fans who leave with stickers, selfies, and the lingering urge to nap in dessert.
