This captive rolling dice is the creation of the late Barry Lockwood, an English designer & inventor, whittled from a single piece of wood, with a resin dice. I was given this pair of rolling dice as a gift and tried to recreate the design as best I could in a 3D Printable design.
Prints as 3 parts, the body, dice and a mounting bar. Requires 2 good quality 604 bearings for each dice.
2 dice can be printed and fit together.
The size and depth of the face marker holes has been carefully calculated in an attempt to maintain even distribution of weight.
Dice V1 / Bar V1

Basic, easily printed & assembled design. Push a bearing into one side of the dice, slide the bar in, then push a bearing onto the other side. The bar & dice have 4mm spacers to keep the bearings seperated.

The dice now has a channel running through the center, if you place a ball bearing in this channel then it will act in such a way th
