Cardboard Spool Bin / Box / Jar

I love the idea of giving a second life to items we might consider useless, like the cardboard spools that once held FDM 3D printing filament. With this project, I've aimed to repurpose these spools by creating small, handy boxes perfect for storing screws, coins, or other small items. Being original with such things isn't easy, especially after seeing the work of other makers. ✔️ I've tried to design something that contrasts with the cylindrical shape of the spool by creating a base and a lid starting from a dodecagon, as a hexagonal shape would have been too angular. ✔️ To make the object a bit more interesting, I've also added a fuzzy finish to the walls and set the "bottom surface pattern" to "concentric." ✔️ I've designed the lid to fit snugly with a bit of pressure, and thanks to the fuzzy finish, it has excellent grip. ✔️ The height of the base was also carefully considered through several prototypes, and I'm very pleased with the final result.
