I wanted to raise the mast mount of my Motion RC Bancroft Nimitz aircraft carrier to allow for the rotation of the radar. I chose to do this by making a small shack level on which to mount the mast, rather than a mast extension.
It is not historically accurate, but serves the purpose. I have a hole for the original mounting screw into the mast from inside the new base shack. I used a few washers under the screw to spread the load out, then glued the new base shack to the existing roof deck of the carrier island. There is also a hold for a small rod running through the shack to allow for the rotation of a radar on the mast itself.
Both rotating radars are connected to separate small geared motors.
I made this in Tinkercad and print it on an Anycubic Mono X resin printer with standard resin. It is hollow and open on the bottom. I printed with auto supports with the piece at a slight tilt.
