This is a design for an 80mm diameter cartwheel for models. It has 12 spokes and a 5mm bore hub. The parts are printed flat and then assembled to create a wheel with realistic dishing.
NB the spokes fit with the angled end in the rim. They may need a little filing to fit well into the hub. Take care not to break the hub sections in between the spokes.
Assemble the parts dry, and when they are a good fit use Plastic Weld - a liquid solvent/adhesive - to glue them together. Use a paintbrush to apply the Plastic Weld to the already assembled wheel, and capillary action will draw the liquid down into the joins. I do not recommend trying to apply glue before fitting the parts together.
Some filing of the spokes is recommended for a good look, and to make the wheel look more handmade. Sand the rim and the hub before assembly, but file the spokes after gluing. Also file the back of the rim/spokes to get it flat before painting.
See also my other design for an 8 spoke cartwheel.
