If you change the 2 pieces of 450 x 500mm to 450 x 515mm you will gain more Z height.

At 12mm wood that hold the motors of extruder need to do it 6-8mm thin or to cut a slot where the motors connect with wood. I have a CnC so i make it easy, a thinner wood is ok too.

I am still thinking how Z axis endstop/height will be..
