Did I miss the opportunity to call this a file cabinet? Like a good driver misses a pedestrian.
So my needle files were in a floppy plastic thing and I tolerated that for a long time. But it was getting worn out so I needed a new case. Mine are a set of 12 at 140mm long and 6mm wide. Obviously if your files have different dimensions you will need to modify the model.
I printed the "clear" top out of transparent pla on an Anet A8 with a PEI bed. The bottom tray was printed on an Ender 3. This was the first project for me where I printed parts on different machines and expected them to fit together. Surprise, it worked.
The hinge pin is just a length of raw PLA filament with the ends riveted with a lighter.
If I could do something different (which I can, but am too lazy to do) I would make the perimeter walls thicker, then make the lid thinner. This would give better transparency, and make the box stringer.
