Cat Tunnel

This design was made to create tunnels through drywall stud walls to allow cats to go in and out of bedrooms without needing to keep doors open. Also keeps dogs from getting to litter boxes.

Flip away door is good for access control, but can be fully installed without it or the bushings.

For walls that are thicker than standard 2x4 stud walls, or to pass through into a cabinet, spacers can be stacked up.

To install, use the template centered where the tunnel should go, drill all the way through the wall, trace around the template, then cut using drywall saw. I used a 1/4" diameter 12" long drill bit to go through the center point of the template and both sides of the wall at the same time to make sure the center of the tunnel was lined up on each side. Use whichever drywall anchor method preferred. I ended up cutting 4" long 2x4 blocks and placing them in the wall cavity where the screws would go.
