NO SUPPORTS!
My prints were done with no supports. In order to achieve this, the spikes are a little more blunt/less sharp/less acute than some other versions you may find. But these spikes are still plenty long and sharp. As can be seen from the images, without any supports there will be a little curling on the underside of the spikes due to the dramatic overhang, but the final print (PLA) still maintained plenty of fidelity to suit the cat's liking.
If you use a gyroid (or similar) infill pattern (see my screenshot and GCODE), and stop the print before the final solid layers, you'll be left with an open-top cat groomer you can sprinkle catnip into!
