This centrifugal compressor was created for Dr. Kazuya Tajiri at MTU for use in research of rocket engines. The impeller was updated from the Centrifugal Impeller model by Christophe Augier. The casing was created by a collaboration between David Eychaner and myself.
The source CAD files and STLs are included below. The compressor consists of three parts. To assemble the compressor simply place the impeller on the lower casing and then place the upper casing on the connecting rods. A DC motor can connect to the impeller through the lower casing.
The compressor costs roughly $2.45 to print overall and can run off a small RC motor. The motor used to design the model cost $13.99 at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0752D1JCC/ref=psdc_2234129011_t3_B076B1GGWJ. This puts the total compressor cost at $16.44. This is a significant cost reduction compared to even the least expensive, yet comparable designs costing $118.42 at https://www.patrickssupply.com/Fasco-A202-1-Speed-Lennox-Draft-Induc
