This is a modification to add spikes to the chain mail used in https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2611564/ and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3082454/. With the OpenSCAD file it can be printed in different sizes and shapes (square, hexagon, triangle). Finished patterns can be joined later, as described, to make larger flat patterns or 3D patterns.

Uses:
This is definitely a solution looking for a problem to solve. It could be used anywhere a spiky area is required to conform over a curved surface. It could be used to keep cats out of certain areas because I don't think they would like walking on it. It is not too bad for a human to walk on barefoot and it is sort of massaging. I imagine a cat or dog would love to be brushed with it.

May 28, 2021: Fixed a fatal bug in the scad file that only shows up in the latest versions of OpenSCAD.
