Chainmail Ring Opener

This is a die that will press open 5/16in ID jump rings about 2-3mm. Enough to hook onto another jump ring or a scale, making chainmail and scalemail much easier to work on. With (standard) 18 SWG rings I didn't need a hammer or anything, my fingers easily had enough force to squeeze the rings open.

This ought to work for any size of ring if you scale the model to the appropriate size.
