I swap chains during the day on my chainsaw, so I need to sharpen chains that aren't on the chainsaw. I bought a spare bar, and printed up this strainer to keep the chain tight while I sharpen it.
It slots into the bar, and I then I clamp the bar in a vise with the strainer pushed against the side, so it tensions the chain. I can then sharpen the teeth, easily moving the chain to the next tooth.
I've included the SCAD file, so you can customise parameters. You will also need two 7x15x28 bearings like these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32856888853.html
UPDATE: I've separated the componets into their own STL files, and added a small tab on the tooth ring support to make sure it stays centred.
