Turn indicator for "Open Chess". By "Open Chess", I mean a chess board set up in a public place, for any passerby to make a move. (not recommended during a pandemic)
Rules of Open Chess:
- Anyone can make a move
- Don't play twice in a row - that is, if you make a move for black, don't immediately make a move for white and vice versa
- Update the turn flipper to indicate whose turn is next
How to assemble:
- Print "move for white" side in white PLA, and the other two parts in black PLA
- Smooth parts as necessary
- Cut the ends off a 3 penny finish nail and file the ends so they aren't sharp. This is now the axle. (Photo attached of the box of nails I used)
- Make sure the paddles fit around the axle and the axle fits into the base
- Use a black sharpie to highlight the raised letters on the white paddle
- Use a white paint marker to highlight the raised letters on the black paddle
- Glue the paddles together with cyanoacrylate glue, using the axle to align them. Be
