Chest Mimic Dice Holder

This was a project that started as a multifunctional gift for the students father it looked cool and it stored dice and was DnD themed so it wasn't out of place on the DnD table. The original problem that were experienced is the teeth stopping the lid from closing completely so after making that changed the student had to find the correct pin for the lid hinge. After all this was done he had a bare bones chest that opened and closed. He printed and painted it and gifted it to his Dad for Christmas. When I told him about the challenge he refined the design improving the hinge and adding detail so that it looked like it was made out of actual wood. The project in the image is printed out of Wood PLA and stained for detail!

This project was turned in on behalf of one of my CAD students participating in the challenge as a class project.
