Child Resistant Door Handle

This is something I came up with because there was nothing on the market I could find that would stop my 1 yr old from opening the door to the garage. This doorknob is an electronic lock (Kwikset 912).

This prevents my 1 year old from pulling the handle down and opening the door. To exit, one just needs to lift the handle up (this goes for the outside also)! the hope is, once he's old enough to be able to lift the handle, we can teach him not to.

To install, the door handle is completely removed and this is added between the door and the mounting plate. (I should have taken more pictures of the install but, my hands were a bit full juggling the parts.) The blocker should be attached before installing the plate behind the lock and uses 3 M4 screws (about 20mm length).

There are also a few expansion holes in the plate for alternatives or add-ons.
