Christmas Star

This Christmas star prints on two plates. The first one has a recess and the bottom surface is thin so as to maximise the light shining through. The base plate is a nice snug fit and can either just be assembled to create a nice star decoration, or have LEDs attached to create a lit star as in the photos. I printed one with Green PLA and a White back plate, and the fitted white LEDS. I also printed a plain white version and fitted green LEDs. The LEDs are the cheap wire type LEDs that can be bought from amazon or your local thrift store.If you wish to make the star a more permanent assembly, a few small drops of CA glue will fasten securely, but I found that the snap fit worked fine without the need for glue. I used some hot melt glue when fastening the LEDs on the back piece.
