I made this star as a Christmas decoration.
It has 18 long and 8 small beams as rays from the star and has a rhombic cuboctahedron as its base.
The beams can either be plugged or screwed onto the base body, depending on how tightly they can be printed.
When using PETG as the material, it is advisable to print only one ray at a time so that it does not contain any defects and is beautifully transparent.
The 2 base bodies had to be printed with support material. The connectors serve as a guide when both halves are put together and are held in place by the attached beams.
M3 nuts can be inserted in the base body, which I fixed with a soldering iron by melting the nut chuck.
The holes for the M3 screws (plastic!) are positioned in such a way that the screwdriver is rarely obstructed if the assembly sequence is correct. In most cases, however, the snap connector was completely sufficient.
The lamp is taken from an illuminated Christmas star from the discount supermarket Lidl. As
