I instead tried placing plates and magnets with mixed results. If i ever do another revision I may look for a mechanical approach.One other change was placing the needle guage only on one side with US and Metric numbers. I wanted to take it off but was told by my wife that she loves having it on there so it stayed. Magnets and plates (all found on Amazon):All five of the magnets are now 10 mm x 30 mm x 3 mm thick. Four on the needle holder and one on the drawer. The plates wh
