Cloak Pen Holder

A pen holder doesn’t always have to look boring. This design combines everyday functionality with a unique optical twist: the translucent inserts act like a cloak, breaking the light so the pens inside are barely visible. With backlight, however, the structure reveals what’s hidden – creating a subtle but striking light effect. The model is made up of four parts: • the main body, • two translucent inserts, • and a colored sleeve that slides over the body to add contrast and style. No AMS needed – just a standard printer is enough to achieve the clean multi-color look. Sized to hold three pens, this stand works perfectly as a normal pen holder while doubling as a decorative desk accessory. I printed mine in Bambu PETG HF (solid + translucent), because the HF white gives an extremely bright, clean white finish. Of course, any translucent filament (PETG, PLA, ABS) works for the inserts to achieve the cloaking effect. Simple, modern, functional – with just the right touch of design.
