This is a simple blocks puzzle.
You can build one 6x6 square or two 4x4 squeares or even a 3x3x4 cube.
This puzzle is inspired in the math article "Creating Clueless Puzzles" [[PDF](http://www.math.smith.edu/~jhenle/Files/creatingclueless.pdf)] where the authors present a sudoku like puzzle.
