This THING is a CNC foam cutter, with a build envelope of 790x590x36 mm. It consists of a T-bot slider, that makes a bow (with a hotwire) able to move smoothly, and cut through foam, following a path from a G-Code.
The entire machine (including foam board and PSU) weighs 8 kg and can easily be carried by one person. The total price adds up to 1718,94 DKK.
A lot of the components are handmade, and all the files for the handmade parts are included as files.
It is made of aluminum-profiles with the total length of 3500 mm and two stepper motors with a complementary timing belt. By using 21 roller bearings, two pulleys and one homemade pulley, the bow
are able to move smoothly and precisely. And by using a PSU, an Arduino kit and a lot of other electronic
components, the movement can be just about anything asked for (of course within the limits of our build envelope).
All we provide for you in this thing are the concept of our machine, the CAD-files, the GRBL-text file th
