A simple 3D printed CNC touch probe. This is part of my g0704 CNC mill conversion: https://www.nathantsoi.com/blog/from-3d-printing-to-machining-metal-parts/index.html#probing
It functions as a normally closed switch. When the probe contacts material in any direction, it breaks this connection and the switch opens.
### Printing:
I printed this in PETG (https://amzn.to/38AbG5Y), but ABS or PLA should be fine as well.
### Required Hardware:
- 6x 8mm steel balls: https://amzn.to/3lxxwva
- 5mm diameter x 50mm steel rod
- 8mm diameter x ~6mm rod for the probe end
- 8mm diameter x ~50mm (I used steel) rod for the probe shaft (to mount inside the collet). I turned down a 1/2" steel rod, so I could use a 1/2" collet
- 10mm diameter spring
