Test CNC Construction
* MDF material 5.6 mm thickness
* 400 mm/min feed rate (Fxy)
* 100 mm/min depth rate (Fz)
* 1.5875 mm milling bit in reality
* +0.55 mm adjustment recomented
* 2.1375 mm milling bit in CAM software
The CNC3018 router is not 100% accurate. The cutter has a diameter of 1.5875 mm, but it also moves slightly outside the ideal cutting line. This results in more material being removed around the cutter in reality and increasing the diameter.
In order to produce an almost exact workpiece, a larger radius, e.g. 2.14mm instead of 1.58mm, must be entered in the CAM software. The CNC machine places the cutter 1.07mm away from the cutting line and the friction of +0.275mm removes the material at the desired ideal line.
For the construction of machines, it is important that there are no gaps at joints and that holes are not too large. The test object consists of two parts and a connection with a screw and a hole for an 8mm rod.
Add 0.05 to 0.70 mm to millin
