Tomorrow is the 15th of March which in Hungary is the memorial day of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848 that grew into a war of independence from the Austrian Empire, ruled by the Habsburg dynasty. A war that determined the modern Hungarian era and had a considerable impact on Central-European history.

The cockade (ribbon rose, or "kokárda" in Hungarian) originated from the French and Italian revolutions of the 18-19th century. It was a dress decoration folded from a ribbon with the tricolor of the country's flag and was worn by both sympathizers of the revolution and the rebels themselves.
