Cockroach trap

I have a slight cockroach problem, but not a huge infestation. Just one or two every now and then. Having a cat and two aquariums, I don't fancy the idea of fumigating my small apartment - relocating my animals is a hassle and a problem for a 24-hour fumigation process. Hence, I've discovered another possible solution, a paste-like Boric acid that you would have pea-sized blobs placed in the suspected locations. This is another problem for me, because having a wet blob sitting in a cupboard, waiting, just asks to be smeared by you when removing a pot, or a plate.
