I bought a roll of filament where the spool reel itself seemed to be slightly larger than standard, so I found that it would not fit on the stock spool holder without hitting the top of the printer.

Quickly mocked up this 5mm spacer to lift the spool holder so that the larger spool cleared. You may need to replace the two screws with slightly longer ones if the ones included with your printer are too short.
