"From difficulties to honors"
I wanted to make a potential award/trophy for adventure racers engaged in orienteering. I edited the compass posted by jlaak to make it a bit easier to print and incorporate some images and text.
It's quite large... so I recommend scaling to 55-75%.
The hemisphere should pop into the lid after some gentle sanding. The hinge possesses a 2mm diameter. A paperclip could potentially slide through this assembly.
The original version lets you just print a compass face and glue it to the center surface. Some pictures here show this version. I decided to make a more realistic compass for this center section.
13 December 2018: VERSION B: Added a new compass and dial to incorporate to the box. Of course you could always just add your own real working compass into this thing. Superglue the needle onto the compass. The dial can just sit on top (or be left out of this entirely). Ignore the Initials on the front in one picture. I was personalizing it
