PHA is a relatively new 3d printing filament, and it is completely biodegradable, on the order of months. Unlike PLA, it does not require an industrial compost, or any special conditions. You could just bury it in the ground, and it will disappear. These are tags meant to test how quickly it degrades in different environments. It has sections of varying thickness to measure the degradation rate. There's a loop at the top to attach a wire or string to, so you can easily find it and pull it out before it completely disintegrates. There's nothing specific to PHA for this model (other than a brim), so if you want a quick point of comparison, make one out of PLA and see how it doesn't degrade at all, despite its marketing as biodegradable. PLA can take years to decades to decompose completely.
