A Cardan (Girolamo Cardano, 1501 - 1574) principle establishes the hidden mystery of this mechanism. In my words, the principle is: „Given two circles, where one has a double radius as the other when the small circle rotates slip less interior tangent to the great (grounded) circle, then a point (any point) on the small circle describes a diameter (straight line) of the great circle”. The application is a brand new Cork press too, as a promised response to Nicolas Marc, who uploaded this solution to GrabCAD: https://grabcad.com/library/close-bottle-mechanism-according-to-my-grandfather-1. I told to Nicolas that this is a Peaucellier mechanism which seams to be very complicated for this subject. I promised him to upload a simpler solution - the Cardan solution. This is a gift for his grandpa', as I said, not for Nicolas... Now I promise to you all that I shall upload here the simplest solution for the problem - a Romanian solution. Wait for me to model the parts, and appreciate for yourself how simple it is. Till then, try to understand this solution. Using Autodesk Inventor is an advantage because you can explore all, and change anything - even the placca text! Enjoy!
