Makes
a parameterized corner and side bracket for constructing polygons. by default, it makes hexagons
the idea is that you use square rod of uniform length to construct a frame, into which you stretch a piece of fabric or something. i used square wooden dowel rods.
the corners have holes for lashing string and for hanging.
in principle, this file is whatever dimension you want. i envisioned it being metric, in mm.
features of OpenSCAD this model prominently uses:
- minkowski summing for rounding
- difference, for cutting
- for loops, for placing the screw holes
known issues:
- the corner tabs are NOT correctly placed. they are approximately correct, but as you change the angle, you get some error. was pretty much correct for 6 sides (hexagon).
- stupid things happen if the roundednesses are too high. namely, for the tabs, a roundedness that's too high will result in no tabs at all.
---
magic constants:
- no known magic constants at this time. amazin
