Countertop Knife Block

A countertop knife block for up to 7 knives.Holds knives with spines up to 6mm wide and 190mm long. This style of knife block holds the knives by the handle, there is no blade contact with any portion of the block and therefore knives are not dulled by using the block. My magnetic knife rail I use was getting pretty full, so I designed this to hold my shorter knives so that it could fit against the wall under my cabinet and I'd still be able to insert and remove the knives with ease. I keep the gyutos on the old rail, and this block holds my nakiris, bunkas, and pettys. Why 7 slots? Because that's how many knives I needed to store. Printed on 5 separate plates, the entire assembly fits together with dovetails. The front and back are inserted into the base, the sides drop into the slots formed by the base, front, and back, and the top is placed last. The final result is very sturdy and satisfactory to my needs. While I could have designed this as a one or two plate model, this d
