Here is presented a coupling with parallel axis. The connection between the Crank (input) and Lever (output) is made by a lever with certain length. The colour of the mobile parts are: Crank (Input) - Green Lever - Blue Output Lever - Orange It's obvious for everybody that, despite the fact that the crank (green) has a uniform angular speed, the output lever (orange) has a pronounced variable speed. This can be verified by applying Dynamic Simulation - the Output Grapher presents the two speeds in the attached picture. The input has a blue graph (a horizontal line) and the output a red one („a mountain”!). All the parts and the assembly are made with Inventor 2014. You can download all of them, and then enter the Environments/Inventor Studio to set the animation as you wish, and to watch what happens. It would be interesting to change the length of the intermediate lever (blue), and to find its limits. If you enter Environments/Dynamic Simulation you can activate Output Grapher and verify the situation. You can shape the „mountain” as you wish by changing the mentioned length and the (eventually non-equal) lengths of the crank. The idea comes from here: http://507movements.com/mm_231.html Enjoy!
