Creality CR10S Extruder Stepper Motor Mount for Filament Runout Sensor (for use with Micro-Swiss direct-drive extruder)
I recently upgrade to the Micro-Swiss direct drive extruder and all-metal hot end for my CR10S and the previous wobbly filament sensor mount was bugging me.
Since the Bowden stepper mount is free when using the direct drive kit, I thought I'd take the Micro-Swiss idea of attaching the PTFE tube and cables from the extruder to this point and add a filament sensor.
Improvements over other sensor housings
Within the main sensor housing there is provision to insert two small lengths of PTFE tubing, to minimise friction and ensure smooth operation. After printing I recommend just using a 4mm drill bit, held in your fingers, to ensure the insert area is clear of any printing defects to ensure easy insertion.
I prefer to tap the threads for mounting the PTFE tube clamps, if you print the design with 4 outlines you will get sufficient solid material around the
