This is a measuring tool to help ensure consistent measurements are achieved when making crochet octopi.
The original gadget was created to help my wife with sizing and measuring when making crochet octopus intended for premature babies.
The gadget was originally supplied through the group “Octopus for a preemie UK”. The group now produces and sells their own version to help raise funds for the group.
This version of the gadget was made to the dimensions used by the UK group “Octopus for a preemie UK” as of April 2018.
Layer height is intended to be 0.3mm.
If the Z height is too low there will be some elephants foot which will make the fit poor or require some cleaning.
The halfs snap together very nicely but if needed the lugs can be adjusted with a hair dryer or similar.
